O debate sobre a participação partidária e parlamentar da mulher na política brasileira revela-se central quando se considera o descompasso entre a importância da mulher em diversos espaços da sociedade brasileira e a baixa participação da mulher na política. Para testar a efetividade da Lei de Cotas, com base no método indutivo e quantitativo, analisamos os resultados eleitorais, a fim de apresentar alguns dados sobre a participação feminina nas eleições de 2016 nos municípios da mesorregião do Norte Pioneiro Paranaense. Nossas conclusões vão no sentido de que há efetivos esforços legislativos e jurisprudenciais no Brasil com vistas a estimular o acesso das mulheres aos recursos eleitorais decisivos; contudo, esses esforços não são suficientes para aumentar o sucesso eleitoral das candidatas mulheres na citada mesorregião: os partidos políticos seguem a previsão legal, mas as candidaturas femininas enfrentam obstáculos extralegais para obter o sucesso eleitoral.It discusses the effect of Brazilian electoral legislation, in particular Law no. 9.504/97 and its jurisprudence, on the support of the addition of the number of female candidates in the Brazilian elections. The debate on women's party and parliamentary participation in Brazilian politics is central when considering the gap between the importance of women in different areas of Brazilian society and the low participation of women in politics. Based on the inductive and quantitative method, we analyzed the electoral results to test the effectiveness of the quota law and present some data on female participation in the 2016 elections in the municipalities of the Pioneer North of Paraná mesoregion.
