O objetivo deste artigo é trazer à luz um conjunto de dados e reflexões sobre a participação dos povos indígenas na política institucional do país, bem como contribuir para que seus direitos civis e principalmente políticos sejam garantidos e efetivados, além de estimular os diversos atores sociais interessados, em particular suas próprias lideranças e organizações indígenas, a intensificarem ou iniciarem mobilização estratégica com vistas a obter maior e melhor resultado no processo eleitoral municipal de 2024. Para tanto, ele está dividido em duas partes: na primeira, recuperamos e sintetizamos dados quantitativos sobre a participação indígena em processos eleitorais municipais apresentados em outros trabalhos; na segunda, apontamos um conjunto de obstáculos e possíveis soluções para que a participação indígena no próximo pleito eleitoral tenha como resultado a ampliação tanto das candidaturas a serem articuladas e lançadas quanto da efetiva conquista de mandatos dos Poderes Executivo e Legislativo municipais. Para tanto, distinguimos três dimensões estratégicas para mapeamento de ações necessárias para o fortalecimento da participação política indígena no cenário municipal e nacional: a base eleitoral indígena, as candidaturas e os mandatos conquistados.In just over a year we will be immersed in the "time of politics". The objective of this article is to bring to light a set of data and reflections on the participation of indigenous peoples in institutional politics in the country, as well as to contribute to ensuring that their civil and, mainly, political rights are guaranteed and put into effect, and to encourage the various interested social actors, in particular their own leaders and indigenous organizations, to intensify or initiate a strategic mobilization with a view to obtaining a greater and better result in the 2024 municipal electoral process. For this purpose, it is divided into two parts: in the first, we retrieve and synthesize quantitative data on indigenous participation in municipal electoral processes presented in other works; in the second, we point out a set of obstacles and possible solutions for indigenous participation in the next electoral process to result in the expansion of both the candidacies to be articulated and launched, as well as the effective achievement of mandates for the municipal executive and legislative powers.
