Democracia x desinformação : a comunicação para além da defesa da urna eletrônica

Abstract

Uma análise da atuação da área de comunicação da Justiça Eleitoral (JE) brasileira diante do cenário que marcou as Eleições 2018: de disseminação de desinformação - por meio do que se popularizou chamar de fake news - e de ataques que atingiram o voto eletrônico e a imagem da Justiça Eleitoral. Durante as Eleições 2018, houve um trabalho de monitoramento da desinformação e das reações de eleitores. Este artigo traz algumas conclusões sobre o material colhido, destacando o distanciamento entre eleitores e organização do pleito e a desconfiança geral sobre o processo. Sugere-se, portanto, a atuação em novas frentes - a começar pelo público interno da instituição -, voltadas à educação para a democracia no Brasil. Propõe-se a validação desse diagnóstico com levantamento de dados e o uso de novas mídias e linguagem visando à reaproximação do público do processo eleitoral.An analysis of the performance of the Brazilian Electoral Justice communication area in view of the scenario that marked the 2018 Elections: of spreading disinformation - through what was popularly called fake news - and attacks that reached electronic voting and Electoral Justice image. During the 2018 elections, there was work to monitor disinformation and voter reaction. This article brings some conclusions about the material collected, highlighting the distance between voters and the organization of the election and the general distrust of the process. Therefore, it is suggested to act on new fronts - starting with the institution's internal public - focused on education for democracy in Brazil. It is proposed to validate this diagnosis with data collection and the use of news media and language in order to bring the public closer to the electoral process.
