Interesse político e confiança nas instituições : uma comparação entre Alemanha e Brasil no período 2013-2018

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho é contribuir com o debate sobre a distinção entre países com democracias consolidadas e países em processo de consolidação. O problema de pesquisa é: qual a relação entre o nível de confiança nas instituições políticas e o interesse por política na Alemanha e no Brasil? Como hipótese investigativa, adotou-se a perspectiva de que (i) quanto maior o interesse por política, maior é a confiança no governo, nos partidos políticos e no Parlamento, ou seja, nas instituições políticas, e, consequentemente, (ii) a população alemã confia mais nas suas instituições políticas porque tem maior interesse em política se comparada à população brasileira. A metodologia quantitativa comparou os dados disponíveis na sexta e na sétima onda do World Values Survey. Os resultados confirmam as hipóteses.

The objective of this work is to contribute to the debate on the distinction between countries with consolidated democracies and countries in the process of consolidation. The research problem is: what is the relationship between the level of trust in political institutions and the interest in politics in Germany and Brazil? As an investigative hypothesis, we adopted the perspective that (i) the greater the interest in politics, the greater the confidence in the government, in political parties, and in the parliament, that is, in political institutions and, consequently, (ii) the German population trusts its political institutions more because it has a greater interest in politics when compared to Brazil. The quantitative methodology compared data available in the sixth and seventh waves of the World Values Survey. The results confirm the hypotheses.
