México ha sido uno de los países latinoamericanos que más reformas políticas y electorales
ha realizado en las últimas décadas. Esas reformas han impactado la articulación entre el sistema de gobierno,
el sistema de partidos y el propio sistema electoral. Este texto cuenta brevemente la historia del
reformismo electoral mexicano, y destaca sus momentos y piezas fundamentales. Ofrece, además, una
perspectiva analítica que ayuda a comprender el proceso de sustitución de un sistema de partido hegemónico
por otro plural y competitivo. Finalmente, hace una crítica a la capacidad del sistema electoral para
llevar al espacio de la representación política la pluralidad que se ha forjado en ese país.
Mexico has been one of the Latin American countries that has carried out more political and electoral reforms in recent decades. These reforms have impacted the articulation between the government system, the party system and the electoral system itself. This text briefly tells the story of Mexican electoral reformism, highlighting its fundamental moments and pieces. It also offers an analytical perspective that helps to understand the process of substitution of a hegemonic party system for a plural and competitive one. Finally, it criticizes the capacity of the electoral system to bring the plurality that has been forged in the country to the space of political representation.
