A dimensão política do cristianismo contemporâneo no Brasil o que dizem as eleições

Abstract

Trabalha sobre resultados parciais e é uma reflexão introdutória sobre o tema, objeto de pesquisa iniciada nas eleições municipais de 1996. Parte do pressuposto de que é possível identificar hoje, no seio da sociedade brasileira, dois processos distintos mas intimamente relacionados, e se interessa sobretudo pela identificação dos elementos que explicitam esses processos, bem como pelas questões que eles colocam. O primeiro está representado por uma transformação nas formas de crer e o segundo por novas dinâmicas das identificações religiosa e política. Interessa-se particularmente pelo segundo aspecto, com ênfase na política partidária - onde o fenômeno é mais visível- por entender que as práticas políticas dos grupos religiosos cristãos no Brasil é grandemente identificada apenas a essa dimensão. As eleições que lhe servem de base são as de 2002.

It works with partial results and it' s an introductory reflection on the theme, subject of a study that begun on the local elections of 1996. It starts from the assumption (the idea?) that it is possible today to identify in Brazilian society two different processes that are intimately connected and the attention is centralized on the identification of the elements that reveal those processes as well as on the issues they rouse. lhe first of them is represented by a transformation of the ways to belíeve and the second is represented by new dynamics of religious and political identifications.lt has particular interest on the second process, with special emphasis on the parties politics - in which the phenomenon is more visible - as it understands that the political practices of Christian religious groups in Brazil are highly identified with that dimension only. lhe article is based on the elections of 2002.
