What makes the Frente Amplio different from other parties in the continent is the strong presence of the base activists in all territory with active role in the party's decisions, through the Base. Therefore, the main goal of this article is to analyze the socialization process among the activist of FA. As a way to understand the socialization process among its activists and how they interpret their own socialization as well as the latent function of the Comité de Base an ethnography was conducted based on direct observations of two Committees and in-depth interviews. From these observations it is possible to conclude that the Comité de Base serve as an important space not only for the internal democracy of Frente Amplio but also to reinforce the primary political socialization of its activists.
