Eleições presidenciais, jogos aninhados e sistema partidário no Brasil

Abstract

Mostra por que o atual sistema apresenta-se muito mais fragmentado do que aquele da República de 46; como foi possível, a despeito de tal fragmentação, que o sistema partidário nacional adquirisse um padrão estável de competição; e por que tal estabilidade não se observa no plano estadual. No desenvolvimento do argumento leva-se em conta o contexto e a estrutura de incentivos nas quais os atores iniciaram e desenvolveram o jogo político a partir dos anos 1980, os eventos históricos dotados de força suficiente para modificar a dinâmica da disputa partidária e o impacto do caráter aninhado da competição eleitoral no país sobre as escolhas feitas pelos líderes partidários.It shows why the current system appears to be much more fragmented than that of the Republic of 46; how it was possible, despite this fragmentation, that the national party system acquired a stable pattern of competition and why such stability is not observed at the state level. In developing the argument, its taken into account the context and the structure of incentives within which the actors initiated and developed the political game from the 80s onwards; the historical events endowed with enough force to alter the dynamics of the party dispute; and the impact of the nested character of the electoral competition on the choices made by party leaders.
