Das ideias às linguagens e conceitos, formas de investigação em pensamento político

Abstract

Analisa a emergência, relativamente autônoma, das abordagens do contextualismo linguístico e da história dos conceitos. Para tanto, revisitamos, respectivamente, os trabalhos de Roger Collingwood, Quentin Skinner, John Pocock e John Dunn, tanto quanto os trabalhos de Reinhardt Koselleck, ressaltando a originalidade de suas propostas de superação de um repertório tradicional da história das ideias. Na Inglaterra, o contextualismo linguístico surgiria em diálogo com a filosofia analítica, polarizando com uma maneira supostamente tradicional de se fazer história da filosofia. Na Alemanha, por sua vez, a história dos conceitos teria formado um diagnóstico acerca das transformações nas maneiras de se perceber e nomear fenômenos históricos como parte de um processo amplo de modernização. Procuraremos demonstrar que polarizar tais abordagens em termos de uma suposta vocação exclusiva para a sincronia ou a diacronia tende a reduzir a força e o alcance de suas contribuições, desfigurando suas identidades enquanto projetos prolíficos de interpretação histórica.

It analyzes the relatively autonomous emergence of linguistic contextualism and of history of concepts, as well as its critical reception by Brazilian studies. To do so, we recuperate, respectively, an assumed link between the works of Roger Collingwood, Quentin Skinner, John Pocock and John Dunn, and also the works gravitating around Reinhardt Koselleck, highlighting the originality of their proposals for overcoming a traditional repertoire of the history of ideas. In Germany, in turn, the history of concepts formulated a diagnosis on the conceptual transformations that inaugurated the modernization process. We try to demonstrate that opposing such approaches on grounds of diachronic and synchronic interpretations tends to reduce the strength and scope of their original contributions, and so diminishing its own intellectual projects.
