O Governo Constitucional de Getúlio Vargas e a "crise fluminense" (1934-1935)

Abstract

Com a reconstitucionalização do país em 1934, após a Revolução Constitucionalista de 1932, alteraram-se as regras do jogo político nacional, viabilizando novos enfrentamentos entre o poder central e as correntes políticas regionais que pretendiam ampliar sua margem de influência através da defesa do federalismo. Além disso, no período imediatamente posterior à promulgação da carta constitucional de 1934, constituiu-se uma arena de divergências políticas radicais, na qual a emergência de outras correntes ideológicas tornava-se inevitável. Este artigo pretende analisar as articulações políticas entre o Governo Federal de Getúlio Vargas e as lideranças partidárias do Rio Grande do Sul, principalmente acerca da sucessão do Governo do Rio de Janeiro entre 1934-35.

With the reconstitutionalization of the country in 1934 after the Constitutional Revolution of 1932, some rules of the national political game changed, enabling new clashes between the central power and regional political trends that wanted to expand its scope of influence by advocating for federalism. Moreover, in the period immediately after the promulgation of the Constitutional Charter of 1934, an arena of radical political dissents was constituted, in which the emergence of other ideological currents became inevitable. This article aims to analyze the political articulations between the Federal government of Getúlio Vargas and party leaders of Rio Grande do Sul, mainly about the succession of the Government of Rio de Janeiro between the years of 1934-35.
