Capital social e comportamento eleitoral em Cascavel em 2004

Abstract

Analisa a relação entre capital social e comportamento eleitoral nas eleições municipais de 2004 no município de Cascavel-PR. Especificamente, procurou-se observar até que ponto a confiança do eleitor nas instituições políticas (legislativo e partido políticos) e os índices de cooperação e participação na vida comunitária influenciaram sua decisão em negociar seu voto; em participar do processo eleitoral, se o voto fosse facultativo, e em escolher seu candidato a prefeito ou em abster-se ou a votar branco ou nulo. Com informações obtidas entre os eleitores cascavelenses numa amostra de 440 entrevistas, o trabalho conclui que, de fato, aquelas variáveis referentes ao capital social exercem uma relativa influência no comportamento eleitoral. Neste sentido, é sugerido que as contribuições teórico-metodológicas de Pierre Bourdieu muito podem contribuir para a elucidação da questão.

It analyzes the relationship among social capital and electoral behavior in the municipal elections of 2004 in the municipal district of Cascavel-PR. Specifically, it tried to observe to what extent the voter's trust in the political institutions - to Legislative and political parties - and the level of her cooperation and participation in the community life influenced her decision in negotiating his vote; in participating in the electoral process - if the vote went optional - and in choosing his candidate to mayor or in abstaining or to vote for white or null. With information obtained among the voters cascavelenses in a sample of 440 interviews, the work concludes that, in fact, those varied regarding the social capital exercise a relative influence in the electoral behavior.
