Resumo
Apresenta a trajetória política de Assis Brasil, fundador do Partido Libertador, deputado e membro da junta governativa gaúcha de 1891, bem como um dos propagandistas da República. Objetiva clarificar determinadas particularidades da carreira do estadista e questionamentos a respeito desta. Para isso, realiza-se uma prospecção histórica, pautada por pesquisa bibliográfica, levando ao entendimento de que sua origem e princípios conduziram e interferiram nos rumos de sua trajetória.
The object of this article is a political trajectory Assis Brasil, founder of the Liberating Party, deputy and member of the governing junta gaucho of 1891, as well as one of the propagandists of the Republic, and is objective to some points of the statesman's career and questions about it. For this, a historical research is conducted, guided by bibliographical research, leading to the understanding of its origin and principles led and interfered in the directions of its trajectory.
