A ditadura nos discursos e na atuação dos deputados estaduais paraenses (1964 - 1969)

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar os resultados iniciais da pesquisa realizada com os Anais da Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Pará (ALEPA) produzidos durante o período ditatorial brasileiro e, com isto, problematizar a participação do Poder Legislativo do Pará e, por sua vez, dos deputados estaduais na sustentação do Regime Militar a nível estadual e do discurso de defesa de uma democracia. Por meio da análise dessas fontes pouco utilizadas a nível regional, podese realizar novas conexões entre as dinâmicas políticas locais e as nacionais de modo a compreender melhor a cultura política instaurada ou continuada com o golpe civilmilitar de 1964 e atuação dos seus diversos agentes. Além dos Anais, a pesquisa se utiliza de jornais paraenses, de documentos oficiais do Departamento de Estado dos E. U. A., dos relatórios do SNI e de memórias de militantes e políticos do Pará.The purpose of this article is to present the initial results of the research carried out with the Annals of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Pará (ALEPA) produced during the Brazilian dictatorial period and, through this, to discuss the participation of the Legislative Power of Pará and, in turn, of the state deputies in the support of the Military Regime at the state level and the discourse of defense of a democracy. By the analysis of these little-used sources at the regional level, new connections can be made between local and national political dynamics in order to better understand the political culture established or continued with the 1964 civilmilitary coup and the performance of its several agents. In addition to the Annals, the research uses newspapers from Pará, official documents from the US Department of State, National Information Service (SNI) reports and memories from militaries and politicians from Pará.
