Críticas feministas à democracia no Brasil : análises da crise e dos limites da normalidade

Abstract

A partir dos aportes da literatura de movimentos sociais e da participação e das teorias políticas feministas, o artigo discute o duplo desafio colocado pelas promessas não cumpridas das democracias liberais e pelo avanço de alternativas iliberais e autoritárias. A leitura do que está em jogo na normalidade e na crise das democracias é feita a partir das vozes de lideranças feministas e antirracistas brasileiras, com base em entrevistas que realizamos no ano de 2023. As entrevistas nos permitiram acessar uma dimensão concreta da democracia, enquanto experiência vivida, que se expressa nas relações dessas mulheres e das organizações em que atuam com o Estado brasileiro. Desse prisma, as análises destacam a tensão entre estrutura e conjuntura: a visão de que o Estado foi historicamente violento e excludente para com as mulheres, em particular as negras, indígenas e trans, e a visão de que a conjuntura política importa porque pode melhorar ou piorar as condições em que se disputa o Estado. A tensão entre estrutura e conjuntura orienta a construção das estratégias e as disputas pela democracia.Drawing on contributions from the literature on social movements and participation and feminist political theories, the article discusses the double challenge posed by the unfulfilled promises of liberal democracies and the advancement of illiberal and authoritarian alternatives. The reading of what is at stake in the normality and crisis of democracies is made from the voices of Brazilian feminist and anti-racist leaders, based on interviews we carried out in 2023. The interviews allowed us to access a concrete dimension of democracy, while lived experience, which is expressed in the relationships of these women and the organizations in which they work with the Brazilian State. From this perspective, the analyzes highlight the tension between structure and situation: the view that the State has historically been violent and exclusionary towards women, particularly black, indigenous and trans women, and the view that the political situation matters because it can improve or worsen the conditions under which the State is contested. The tension between structure and situation guides the construction of strategies and disputes for democracy.
