A inserção política da mulher no Brasil : uma retrospectiva histórica

Abstract

Analisa, sob a perspectiva histórica, a posição e a atuação política da mulher na sociedade brasileira. Defende que, na história brasileira, a invisibilidade da mulher comprometeu a plena realização dos direitos políticos, que somente foram franqueados à mulher brasileira na década de 30 do século XX, ao término da Velha República. Discorre sobre a posição da mulher nos períodos históricos: Brasil colonial (1500-1822), Império (1822-1889) e República Velha (1889-1930), bem como sobre os direitos da mulher no Código Eleitoral de 1932, nas Constituições de 1934 e 1937, no Código Penal de 1940, nas Constituições de 1946, 1967 e 1969 e, por fim, trata da Constituição de 1988 e os impactos sobre a posição da mulher na sociedade brasileira. Conclui, apresentando as perspectivas da inserção da mulher na sociedade e na política brasileiras.

It examines, in a historical perspective, position and political role of women in Brazilian society. It argues that, in Brazilian history, the invisibility of women committed to achieving full political rights, which the franchisees were only Brazilian woman in the 30s of the twentieth century, at the end of the Old Republic. Discusses the position of women in historical periods: Colonial Brazil (1500-1822), Empire (1822-1889) and Old Republic (1889-1930), as well as on women s rights in the Electoral Code of 1932, the Constitutions of 1934 and 1937, the Criminal Code of 1940, the Constitutions of 1946, 1967 and 1969 and, finally, deals with the 1988 Constitution and the impacts on the position of women in Brazilian society. It concludes by presenting the perspectives of the inclusion of women in Brazilian society and politics.
