Reeleição para o executivo municipal no Brasil (2000-2008)

Abstract

Versa sobre o fenômeno da reeleição nas eleições para prefeito no Brasil. Apresenta e analisa o resultado obtido pelos chefes do executivo de 62 municípios brasileiros (26 capitais e 36 que contavam com 200 mil eleitores desde o ano 2000) que buscaram a reeleição imediata, nos pleitos de 2000, 2004 e 2008. Pondera o índice de sucesso desses incumbents e, em caso de derrota, busca identificar quem consegue vencê-lo, em especial a presença de ex-prefeitos na disputa.It deals with the phenomenon of re-election for mayor in Brazil. It presents and analyzes the result obtained by the heads of the executive of 62 municipalities (26 capitals and 36 are taught by 200 thousand voters since 2000) who sought re-election immediately, in the elections of 2000, 2004 and 2008. Ponder the success rate of incumbents and, in case of defeat, seeks to identify who can beat him, especially the presence of ex-mayors in the race.
