Aspectos históricos da luta sufrágica feminina no Brasil

Abstract

Ao colocar em relevo o sufrágio universal e a importância do voto na democracia representativa, o artigo examina a luta sufrágica feminina no Brasil e a conquista do voto como forma de emancipação política da mulher. Para tanto, abrange o período histórico que vai desde a aparição das primeiras manifestações pelo voto (no inicio isoladas) até a sua efetiva conquista e constitucionalização (1870-1932-1934). Portanto, faz um relato dos aspectos principais da luta sufrágica, bem como situa, de inicio, o contexto sócio- -histórico-familiar no qual as mulheres estavam inseridas á época da reivindicação política e, por fim, enumera algumas conquistas políticas posteriores á conquista do voto.

Detaching the universal suffrage and the importance of the vote in the representative democracy, the present article examines the feminine fight for the right of voting in political elections and the conquest of the vote as a form of political emancipation of women. In order to do so, the article comprises the historic times that go from the appearance of the first manifests for the vote (at first isolated) to its effective conquest and constitutionalism (1870, 1932, 1934). Therefore, it narrates the main aspects of this fight, as well as places, at first, the social-historical-familiar context in which women were inserted in, at the time of the political claim, and, finally, lists some political conquests posterior to the conquest of the vote.
