Gênero e representação política : hipóteses sobre as diferenças entre a atuação de deputados federais na 52ª legislatura (2003-2006)

Abstract

Discute a atuação das deputadas federais, no Brasil, na 52ª Legislatura(2003-2006). A análise é feita sob dois prismas: o da sub-representação, entendida como efeito das múltiplas barreiras impostas à candidatura e eleição de mulheres, e o das especificidades de sua atuação política depois de eleitas, entendidas como efeitos dos limites e apostas possíveis para as mulheres que conseguem adentrar o campo político.It analyzes the role of brazilian congresswomen in the 52nd Legislature (2003-2006). The analysis is focused on two aspects: it considers subrepresentation, understood as an effect of multiple barriers posed to candidature and election of women; it also considers the specificities of womens acting in the House of Representatives, understood as effects of limits and possible strategies assumed by those women who have been able to enter the political field.
