A Aliança Liberal no estado do Paraná : composição do núcleo dirigente, desempenho eleitoral e destinos políticos de suas lideranças (1929-1930)

Abstract

Desenvolve-se uma investigação acerca da estrutura interna e do desempenho eleitoral da Aliança Liberal (AL) no Paraná. Nesse estado, as atividades da agremiação abrangeram os anos de 1929 a 1930. Por meio de um estudo de caso, o objetivo desta análise é produzir conhecimento sobre as formas de ação política de oposicionistas nos anos finais da Primeira República. Há quatro argumentos sustentados neste trabalho. Primeiro, é evidenciado que, no Paraná, a AL era controlada por egressos do partido governista. Segundo, compete demonstrar que ela atingiu um grau de competitividade eleitoral superior ao dos partidos estaduais que existiram naquele estado nos anos 1920. Terceiro, destaca-se que a vida interna da unidade paranaense da AL era pouco estável. Os membros do núcleo dirigente do partido não demoraram a se cindir. Em quarto lugar, convém salientar que, no início dos anos 1930, uma parte dos gestores dessa agremiação atuou no campo oposicionista. O ingresso desses correligionários no grupo situacionista ocorreu no período pouco anterior ao advento do Estado Novo.

It analyzes the internal structure and electoral performance of the Liberal Alliance (LA) in Paraná. In such a state, the activities of this association extended from 1929 to 1930. Through a case study, the purpose of this analysis is to produce knowledge about the forms of political action of oppositionists in the final years of the First Republic. There are four arguments presented in this work. First, in Paraná, the LA was controlled by former members of the ruling party. Second, the LA reached a degree of electoral competitiveness higher than that of the state parties that existed in that state during the 1920s. Third, the internal life of the LA unit in Paraná was not stable. The members of the ruling core of this association were quick to split. The fourth argument points out that, in the early 1930s, part of the leaders of the party acted in the field of opposition. The entry of these allies in the ruling group took place in the context shortly before the establishment of the Estado Novo.
