O ciclo eleitoral venezuelano, 2012-2013 : notas sobre a conjuntura

Abstract

Analisa as perspectivas e o ciclo eleitoral venezuelano marcado pelas eleições presidenciais de outubro de 2012 e abril de 2013 e as eleições estaduais de dezembro de 2012, aponta como as mudanças políticas e sociais introduzidas pelo presidente Hugo Chávez criaram uma nova realidade para a Venezuela e as dificuldades enfrentadas pela oposição para aceitar este legado e ao mesmo tempo propor mudanças. Aponta-se ainda o cenário de acentuação da polarização política com a eleição de Maduro e a aposta da oposição no uso do referendo revogatório de mandatos. Analisa-se ainda os reflexos sobre a política externa e o papel que o Brasil pode desempenhar no novo cenário.

It examines the prospects and electoral cycle marked by Venezuelan presidential elections in October 2012 and April 2013 and the state elections of December 2012, indicates how the political and social changes introduced by President Hugo Chavez created a new reality for Venezuela and the difficulties faced by the opposition to accept this legacy and at the same time propose changes. It points still the scenario of intensification of political polarization with the election of Maduroand the opposition strategy of use recall referendum. It is analyzed still the consequences on Venezuelan foreign policy and the role that Brazil can play in the new scenario.
