Sistema eleitoral e sistema partidário

Abstract

Na literatura sobre as instituições políticas brasileiras, é freqüente considerar-se que o sistema eleitoral é a causa da fragmentação nentes do sistema eleitoral - a fórmula eleitoral, a magnitude do distrito e o processo de escolha intra-lista dos candidatos - sobre o sistema partidário. As conclusões do estudo não confirmam a suposição prevalecente na literatura.

A supposition often found in the literature on Brazilian political institutions is that the cause of the fragmentation of the party system is to be found in the electoral system. After an examination of the main relevant features the conclusions do not support this claim.
