A reserva de vagas no Legislativo para mulheres : ação afirmativa para a plenitude democrática

Abstract

Trata da baixa participação política feminina no Brasil e das poucas representantes no Poder Legislativo, destacando que as mulheres compõem mais da metade do eleitorado. Objetiva, ainda, atestar a necessidade de políticas afirmativas para aumentar a participação política feminina, principalmente por meio das cotas, com embasamento nas teorias da representação descritiva, de reconhecimento e de democracia paritária. O método empregado na elaboração deste trabalho foi a pesquisa bibliográfica. Ao final, sugere-se a reserva de cadeiras para mulheres no Poder Legislativo.

Studies the low womens political participation in Brazil. Although they are more than half of the constituency, there are few representatives in the Legislative Power. The aim of this paper is to study the need of affirmative policies to increase womens involvement in politicy, mainly through quotas, supported by the theory of descriptive representation, recognition and parity democracy. The research was based on bibliographic review. In the end, is been suggested the implementation of opening reserves for women in the Legislative.
