A relação igreja e partido no Brasil : o caso da Igreja Universal com o Partido Republicanos

Abstract

Analisa a relação entre partido político e igreja evangélica no Brasil, mais especificamente a relação da Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus com o partido Republicanos, o qual é apontado por autores como um "braço político" dessa igreja. A partir da revisão da literatura e da consulta ao estatuto, ao manifesto de criação e ao programa do partido Republicanos, pretende-se analisar a origem da fundação e os elementos constitutivos dessa organização partidária. Procura-se, também, identificar a presença de líderes religiosos ou de membros da Igreja Universal na composição das comissões executivas nacional, estadual e distrital, bem como entre os deputados federais e deputados estaduais eleitos por esse partido. Os resultados dessa análise revelaram o predomínio de membros e religiosos da Igreja Universal na direção partidária ou com mandatos políticos na estrutura do Republicanos.

It analyzes the relationship between the political party and the evangelical church in Brazil, more specifically the relationship between the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God and the Republicans party, which is pointed out by authors as a "political arm" of that church. From the review of the literature and the consultation of the statute, the manifesto of creation and the program of the Republicans party, it intends to analyze the origin of the foundation and the constituent elements of this party organization. It also seeks to identify the presence of religious leaders or members of the Universal Church in the composition of the national, state and district executive commissions, as well as among federal deputies and state deputies elected by that party. The results of this analysis revealed the predominance of members and religious of the Universal Church in the party leadership or with political mandates in the structure of the Republicans.
