O que esperar das mulheres na política? : uma análise das narrativas de vereadoras da região sul do Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Problematiza os discursos sobre as contribuições das mulheres na política partidária que emergiram nas narrativas de algumas vereadoras de cinco municípios da região sul do Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Para isso, produzimos entrevistas individuais semi estruturadas com 11 vereadoras. Fundamentamos o estudo com base nas contribuições dos Estudos Culturais e de Gênero nas suas vertentes pós-estruturalistas, entendendo o gênero como construção de caráter histórico, cultural e social em meio a sistemas de significação e relações de poder. Ao longo das análises, verificamos o predomínio de representações das mulheres nesse espaço político com base em características determinadas socialmente femininas, como a sensibilidade, a afetividade, a família, o espaço privado e as áreas sociais.Problematize the discourses about the contributions of women in partisan politics that emerged in the narratives of some alderwomen from fi ve cities in southern Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Therefore, we produced semi-structured interviews with 11 alderwomen. We supported the study on the contributions of Cultural and Gender Studies in their poststructuralist strands, understanding gender as a historical, cultural and social construction in the midst of systems of signifi cation and relations of power. Throughout the analysis, we found the prevalence of representations of the women in in this political space based on certain characteristics socially determined as female, such as the sensitivity, the affectivity, the family, the private space and the social areas.
