Lulismo : entre o popular e o populismo

Abstract

Investiga como o popular pode ser tomado como matriz do discurso lulista e como editorialistas e colunistas do jornal Folha de S. Paulo ressignificam como "populista" este discurso em 2006 e em 2010, por ocasião das eleições presidenciais, e, assim, sustentam seu posicionamento político. Busca-se demonstrar como as opiniões publicadas neste jornal retomam os elementos que configuram a noção de "populismo", hegemônica até o final dos anos 1970, qual seja: a de um fenômeno que se caracteriza por uma política de massas, um estilo de governo que se assenta na manipulação e na tutela estatal dos trabalhadores e teria caracterizado a política brasileira entre os anos de 1930 e 1964.It investigates how the popular can be taken as a matrix of Lula's discourse and how editorialists and columnists of the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo reframe this discourse as "populist" in 2006 and 2010, at the presidential elections, and, thus, sustain his political positioning. We seek to demonstrate how the opinions published in this newspaper resume the elements that make up the notion of "populism", hegemonic until the late 1970s, namely, that of a phenomenon that is characterized by a mass politics, a style of government that relies on manipulation and state protection of workers and that has characterized Brazilian politics between the years 1930 and 1964.
