Revisando a teoria da modelagem espacial : alguns estudos sobre partidos políticos

Abstract

Examina a literatura sobre partidos políticos direcionada para teoria da modelagem espacial. A leitura desta vertente teórica motiva um rol de questionamentos sobre a mudança partidária e as consequências dessa mudança junto aos eleitores. O artigo central escolhido para ser examinado é o texto de James Adams (2012). Busquei identificar questões, problemas, teorias, hipóteses e mecanismos causais que fazem parte do desenho de pesquisa traçado por Adams (2012). Textos que compõem a bibliografia do artigo central também foram submetidos à análise. Algumas debilidades da teoria da modelagem espacial foram reveladas.It examines the literature on political parties directed to spatial modeling theory. The reading of this theoretical approach motivates a set of questions about party changes and the consequences of such change among electors. The central article chosen for examination is James Adams' text (2012). I aimed to identify questions, problems, theories, hypotheses and causal mechanisms that are part of Adam's (2012) research design. Texts that are part of the central article's bibliography were also submitted to analysis. Some weaknesses of spatial modeling theory were revealed.
