Mulher e política : a dificuldade da sub-representação no contexto brasileiro

Abstract

Aborda a sub-representação feminina na política, no processo eleitoral e na democracia representativa dentro do contexto brasileiro. Tem por objetivo identificar o quadro de sub-representatividade da mulher no meio político como impedimento para a institucionalização da democracia representativa. Conta com abordagem metodológica qualitativa, ao delinear os aspectos subjetivos da sub-representação da mulher, e quantitativa, ao analisar dados das eleições de 2016 obtidos por intermédio do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral e de estudos feitos pelo World Bank. Infere-se da investigação realizada que os dados analisados explicitam a baixa participação da mulher na política brasileira, que, por sua vez, é prejudicial à conformação da democracia representativa.

It deals with female underrepresentation in politics, electoral process and representative democracy in the brazilian context. It has the primary objective of identifying the underrepresentation of women in the political arena as a problem that undermines the institutionalization of representative democracy. It has a qualitative methodological approach, delineating the subjective aspects of womens underrepresentation, and, quantitatively, analyzing data from the 2016 elections obtained through the Higher Electoral Tribunal and studies conducted by the World Bank. It is inferred from the research carried out that the data analyzed explain the low participation of women in brazilian politics, which in turn is detrimental to the conformation of representative democracy.
