It analyzes women's competitiveness in the last parliamentary elections of 2021, where parity and alternation regulation was applied for the first time within an institutional context of closed and unblocked lists with double preferential voting. The article combines a first look at the national level with a more specific analysis of the results in the electoral district of Lima - which, with 33 seats at stake, is the largest in the country. The study that measures the women's electoral performance through their ability - compared to men- to attract preferential votes also addresses some of the different variables that may impact the greater or lesser women's eligibility, both at the national level and in Lima (depending on data availability).
