E-representação como teoria política : comunicação social, internet e democracia representativa

Abstract

Discute uma teoria sobre as potencialidades da internet para a representação política em regimes democráticos. Para tanto, analisa-se o lugar da representação na teoria da democracia, a relação entre representação e comunicação e as possíveis contribuições que uma comunicação política digital poderia trazer à representação democrática. Ao fim, o artigo sugere que tal comunicação deve se preocupar menos com a interatividade entre representantes e representados e mais com o fortalecimento das práticas deliberativas e participativas within representation no ambiente online.

It discusses a theory about the potentialities of the Internet for political representation in democratic regimes. To follow this path, this work will debate the place of representation within democratic theory, the relation between representation and communication, and an agenda of contributions that a digital political communication could bring for democratic representation. As a conclusion, it is argued here that this communication should worry less about interactivity among representatives and represented and more about strengthening participative and deliberative practices within representation on the Internet.
