Disputas eleitorais em Dourados, no sul do antigo Mato Grosso : influência do contexto estadual e crescimento do PTB nas eleições de 1954, 1958 e 1962

Abstract

Analisa a influência dos governadores do então Mato Grosso sobre as eleições em Dourados, cidade localizada no sul do estado, mais especificamente nos pleitos para prefeito em 1954, 1958 e 1962, apontando se foram exitosas ou não as estratégias impostas pelos chefes do Executivo estadual em impulsionar a candidatura de seus aliados em cada uma das eleições acima, entendendo que tal expediente faz parte da tradição política no estado. Além disso, afirmamos que houve um crescimento eleitoral do PTB em Dourados. Sendo assim, apontamos os fatores que motivaram esta ascensão trabalhista. O texto traz também apontamentos e reflexões sobre a rivalidade no Mato Grosso envolvendo os principais partidos políticos à época - PTB, PSD e UDN - no recorte temporal proposto, e quais as repercussões dessas disputas em Dourados.It analyzes the influence of the governors of the State of Mato Grosso on the elections in Dourados - a city located in the southern state - more precisely in the elections for mayor in the years of 1954, 1958 and 1962. Its purpose is to indicate if the strategies imposed by the chiefs of Executive in promoting the candidacy of their allies in each of the above elections were successful or not, understanding that such means is part of the political tradition in the State. Furthermore, we claim that there was an electoral growth of the political party PTB (Partido Trabalhista Brasileiro) in Dourados. Thus, we point out the factors that motivated this labor rise. The text also contains notes and reflections on the Mato Grosso s rivalry involving the main political parties at the time - PTB, PSD (Partido Social Democrático) and UDN (União Democrática Nacional) - in the proposed time frame, and what the implications of these disputes in Dourados are
