Representatividade das mulheres na política : medidas implementadas nos governos de Dilma e Bachelet

Abstract

A representação das mulheres nas esferas do poder político na América Latina tem sido um fenômeno recente e mais visível após os processos de redemocratização. O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar até que ponto os governos de Dilma e Bachelet contribuíram para elevar os níveis de representação feminina na política, evidenciando as estratégias e ações que elas conseguiram implementar em seus governos para ampliar a participação das mulheres no cenário político, especificamente no poder executivo e legislativo. Trata-se de uma pesquisa comparativa de caráter qualitativo, cujos dados são levantados por meio de pesquisa documental e entrevistas com ex-ministras e integrantes de ONGs Feministas. Para a análise dos dados elegeu-se os referenciais teóricos dos estudos feministas e de gênero. Resultados apontam que Bachelet encontrou um cenário político mais favorável e que as especificidades na implantação de medidas têm relação direta com os contextos político e social desses países.

The representation of women in the spheres of political power in Latin America has been a recent and more visible phenomenon after the processes of re-democratization. This article aims to analyze the extent to which the governments of Dilma and Bachelet contributed to raising the levels of female representation in politics and to highlight the strategies and actions that they managed to implement in their governments to increase the participation of women in the political scenario, specifically, in the executive and legislative branches. This is a comparative study of qualitative character with data collected through documented research and interviews with former ministers and members of Feminist NGOs. For the analysis of the data, we chose the theoretical references of feminist and gender studies. Results point out that Bachelet found a more favorable political scenario and that the specificities in the implementation of measures are directly related to the political and social contexts of these countries.
