Estratégias partidárias e perfil social dos vereadores do Rio de Janeiro : entre o ser e o querer ser

Abstract

Investiga a representação da Câmara dos Vereadores da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, a partir das lógicas de recrutamento e de análise de variáveis sociais. Neste campo de estudo, é possível observar a sobrerrepresentação de categorias ocupacionais e estímulos diferenciados a determinados perfis, de maneira a aumentar as suas chances de disputa. Assim, o trabalho testa hipóteses, a partir das informações entregues ao Tribunal Superior Eleitoral pelos candidatos, sobre as diferenças de sucesso entre perfil social e ocupacional, gasto em campanha e patrimônio, para as disputas locais ao cargo de vereador nas eleições de 2012 e 2016. Permite, com isso, preencher a lacuna que se faz presente de análises locais sobre recrutamento e, também, corroborar a argumentação de que os cargos eletivos são mais afeitos a determinados segmentos populacionais privilegiados.It investigates the representation of the Council of Rio de Janeiro, using as a starting point the logic of recruitment and the analysis of social profiles. To do this, a dialog with national literature that talks about the over-representation of occupational categories and differential incentives to certain profiles in a way that increases the chances of this figure in a dispute. Following this, the article tests the hypotheses , using as material information given by the candidates present in the Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, about the differences of success between social profile and occupational, spent in campaign and patrimony. This permits us to fill up a gap that is present em local analysis about recruitment and also reinforce the argument that elective positions are more likely to happen to determined privileged population.
