Resumo
El 6 de junio de 2021 se realizaron comicios en México para renovar la Cámara de Diputados
del poder legislativo federal y diferentes cargos en las entidades federativas. Como ha ocurrido en varios
países de América Latina, también se efectuaron en medio de un contexto de pandemia y un ambiente
político marcado por la polarización en la opinión pública. Esta situación se reflejó en la conformación
de dos coaliciones electorales: Va por México (PAN, PRI y PRD) y Juntos Hacemos Historia (Morena,
PT y PVEM). Asimismo, el proceso se caracterizó por la reglamentación de medidas sanitarias para el día
de la jornada, la aplicación de acciones afirmativas y de medidas para contrarrestar la violencia política
contra las mujeres en razón de género, promovidas por la autoridad electoral. Los resultados permitieron
al partido gobernante mantener la mayoría simple en la cámara baja y ganar varias gubernaturas en juego.
On June 6, 2021, elections were held in Mexico to elect the Chamber of Deputies of the federal legislative branch and different positions in the states. As has happened in several Latin American countries, this election also took place amid the pandemic and a political context marked by polarization in public opinion. This situation was reflected in the formation of two electoral coalitions: Va por México (PAN, PRI and PRD) and Juntos Hacemos Historia (Morena, PT and PVEM). Likewise, the electoral process was characterized by the regulation of sanitary measures for the Election Day, affirmative actions and measures to thwart political violence against women based on gender, promoted by the electoral authority. The results allowed the ruling party to maintain a simple majority in the lower house and win several governorships.
