Cidadania e democracia no Brasil

Abstract

A formação de um Estado Democrático de Direito, no Brasil e no mundo, é tema fundamental para a compreensão da realidade sócio-histórica atual. Para a concretização de tal Estado, é imprescindível que haja um efetivo e pleno exercício da cidadania nos países, resultando na necessidade de um efetivo e pleno exercício da democracia. Sendo assim, o objetivo desse trabalho é expor em linhas gerais os conceitos e as interações entre cidadania e democracia, assim como as falhas no exercício das mesmas no Brasil, propondo reflexões de como alterar esse quadro, baseando-se nas obras de outros autores que já trataram de tão importante assunto.The formation of a democratic rule of law, in Brazil and in the world, is a fundamental theme for the comprehension of the current socio-historical reality. For the formation of such rule of law, the existence, in the countries, of an effective and full exercise of citizenship is indispensable, resulting in the need of an effective and full exercise of democracy. Therefore, the goal of this article is to expose as a general rule the concepts and the interactions between citizenship and democracy, as well as the flaws in their exercise in Brazil, offering solutions of how to alter this scenario, basing itself in the works of other authors who have already addressed such important subject.
