It was made in the context of the election federal intermediate, in which the three parties had less than the 75% of the total of them members (in 1997 obtained more than the 97%) what can consider is a change in the system of party in Mexico. The paper asked if this change and its implications have affected the way as these three parties chose their national leaders. The PRI appeared to return to its traditional standards with only candidate endorsed by the President of the Republic. PAN had its second election with the vote of entire militancy, and the level of conflict came to the grade to be qualified by a leader of this party as a self-destructive frenzy. The PRD was paralyzed by internal conflicts and divisions that gave rise to a new party, MORENA, and looked for the solution in an politician external to the party. We want to analyze what kind of institutions and beliefs of legitimacy express these processes. In June 2016, after the local elections of that year, the national leadership of the PRI and the PRD elected in 2015 resigned. A reflection on these disclaimers is presented as afterword
